Meet Dr. Ratner
Drew Ratner, MD, MBA, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, joint arthroplasty, and fracture care at Texas Bone and Joint in Denton and Lewisville, Texas. 
Dr. Ratner grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he attended high school at the Episcopal School of Dallas. After graduation, he attended Northwestern University on a soccer scholarship. While at Northwestern, he was a three-year starter and two-year captain of the soccer team, which finished in the top 25 all three of those years and went to two NCAA Elite Eights during his time there. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in psychology.
Then, Dr. Ratner received his medical degree from Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. He concomitantly obtained an MBA with a concentration in Health Organization Management from Texas Tech Rawls College of Business. 
In 2018, Dr. Ratner completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Greenville Health System in Greenville, South Carolina. In Greenville, he received extensive training in orthopedic trauma at a busy Level I Trauma Center. He also trained in hip, shoulder, and knee replacement surgery at a total joint center of excellence. 
Dr. Ratner also completed sports medicine training, including arthroscopic knee, elbow, and shoulder surgery, at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of Carolinas and Blue Ridge Orthopedics, where he served as assistant team physician to Dr. Stephen Martin for Clemson University Athletics.
Finally, Dr. Ratner completed an additional year of training as a sports medicine fellow at the UC Health Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver, Colorado. During his fellowship, he served as assistant team physician to Dr. Martin Boublik for the Denver Broncos and to Dr. Tom Noonan for the Colorado Rockies. While in Denver, he received additional specialty training in arthroscopic procedures for the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow, including shoulder replacement surgery.
